I am really grateful that PT Annapurna Indonesia asked me to visit and endorse their catering services. They told me that I can join the most prestigious event that British International School held, "SEASAC SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2014".

For the starter, I just want to tell you that The Annapurna is the dining connoisseur that does more than just to cater your food & beverage needs. They treasure your special moments as their own by putting their deepest thoughts to every menu and highest effort to every presentation in order to complement to your most precious occasion.

Fun Fact: The Annapurna's philosophy comes from the Annapoorna Devi herself. Annapurna or Annapoorna (Devanagri: अन्नपूर्णा, from Sanskrit meaning the giver of food and nourishment) is one of Hindu's goddesses, Annapurna is known as provider of food and the sustainer of prosperity. Anna means "food" or "grains". Purna means "full, complete and perfect". She is an avatar of Parvati, the wife of Shiva. Annapurna is eulogized in Annada Mangal, a narrative poem in Bengali by Bharatchandra Ray. Annapurna also perceived as the symbol of nourishing and care for her ability to provide food to your every personal needs.

For your Information, The Annapurna was entrusted by British International School to fully managed the school canteen that caters up to 1,000 people daily. Everyday, they create attractive diversified menu with Healthy Eating conduct for students and teachers. Occasionally They accommodate a special thematic program such as this SEASAC Swimming Championship 2014. The Annapurna dedication, aside of providing Healthy Nutritious Food, also educating students to exploration of Taste, Creativity, Culture and Heritage.

For your information, The SEASAC Swimming Competition is an exciting international swimming event providing an opportunity for school swimmers to represent their school both as an individual and team member. The event is open to swimmers in age groups 12 and under through to 18 years of age.

The first time British International School entered the SEASAC Swimming in 2006, it only had six schools in total in the championship. The event concept and school numbers have grown each year and this year we have twelve schools competing in the tournament with over 300 swimmers participating. By that number, it is The Annapurna's duty to caters over 300 participants.

The luncheon was held on British International School's indoor basketball court. I am amazed with how The Annapurna change the court into dining area.

I immediately know why The Annapurna use Wayang Kulit as their buffett's decorations. On this International event, The Annapurna wants to introduce one of Indonesian culture named Wayang.

Fun Fact: Wayang is a Javanese word for particular kinds of theatre. When the term is used to refer to kinds of puppet theatre, sometimes the puppet itself is referred to as wayang. Performances of shadow puppet theatre are accompanied by a gamelan orchestra in Java, and by gender wayang in Bali.
UNESCO designated wayang kulit, a shadow puppet theatre and the best known of the Indonesian wayang, as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on 7 November 2003. In return for the acknowledgment, UNESCO required Indonesians to preserve their heritage.

Well, lets discussed The Annapurna's food...

The Annapurna served a diversity of delicious food such as:

- Salad Buffet
A diverse kind of fresh salad and dressing. The Annapurna's attendant stay on this salad bar, so everyone can asked him to make a diverse kind of salad ex: Greek Salad, Ceasar Salad etc.

- Mushroom Cream Soup
is a simple type of soup where a basic roux is thinned with cream or milk and then mushrooms and/or mushroom broth are added. It is well known in North America as a common type of condensed canned soup. Cream of mushroom soup is often used as a base ingredient in casseroles and comfort foods. This use is similar to that of a mushroom flavored gravy.

- Beef Stroganov
Beef Stroganoff or Beef Stroganov is a Russian dish of sautéed pieces of beef served in a sauce with smetana (sour cream). From its origins in mid-19th-century Russia, it has become popular around the world, with considerable variation from the original recipe.

I really love the tender texture from the beef and the beautiful seasoned taste. The meat was so tender. To tell you the truth, for a mass production, this beef stroganov is really delicious!

- Chicken Curry
Chicken curry is a common delicacy in South Asia, Southeast Asia, as well as in the Caribbean. A typical South Asian curry consists of chicken stewed in an onion and tomato-based sauce, flavoured with ginger, garlic, chillies and a variety of spices, often including turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom and so on. Outside South Asia, chicken curry is often made with a pre-made spice mixture known as curry powder.

The curry itself have a beautiful taste. I often to eat a very strong fragrant and strong spice taste. But in this chicken curry, I really enjoy their perfect seasoning. The seasoning is really perfect so the is not overwhelming and the taste is not overpowering the chicken. There is no other words beside "perfection".

- Grilled Vegetables

- Roast Potato

- Steamed Rice with Diced Vegetable
A rice that cooked and mixed with corn, peas, carrot and snaps.

- Pasta Carbonara
Carbonara is an Italian pasta dish from Latium, and more specifically Rome, based on eggs, cheese (Pecorino Romano or Parmigiano-Reggiano), bacon (guanciale or pancetta), and black pepper. Spaghetti is usually used as the pasta, however, fettuccine, rigatoni, or bucatini can also be used. The dish was created in the middle of the 20th century.

The carbonara was so delicious! The creamy texture and taste is so perfect and without any doubt, this pasta carbonara easily become everyone's favorite!

- Pasta Bolognese
Bolognese sauce, known in Italian as ragù alla bolognese, is an oil, onion, celery, tomato and cheese sauce, some are meat-based sauce originating from Bologna, Italy. In Italian cuisine, it is customarily used to dress "tagliatelle al ragù" and to prepare "lasagne alla bolognese". In the absence of tagliatelle, it can also be used with other broad, flat pasta shapes, such as pappardelle or fettuccine, or with short tube shapes, such as rigatoni or penne. Genuine ragù alla bolognese is a slowly cooked sauce, and its preparation involves several techniques, including sweating, sautéing and braising. Ingredients include a characteristic soffritto of onion, celery and carrot, different types of minced or finely chopped meat (generally bovine, including beef, and possibly pork, such as pancetta), wine and a small amount of tomato concentrate.

Oh my goodness, sweet, savory and sourness compliments each other and successfully held a party in my mouth. Taste so beautifully delicious and you will scream for more for this dish

- Vegetable Lasagna
Lasagne are a wide, flat pasta shape, and possibly one of the oldest types of pasta. The word also refers to a dish made with several layers of lasagne sheets alternated with sauces and various other ingredients.

Lasagne originated in Italy, traditionally ascribed to the city of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna), in where the first modern recipe was created and published and became a traditional dish. Traditional lasagne is made by interleaving layers of pasta with layers of sauce, made with ragù, bechamel, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. In other regions and outside of Italy it is common to find lasagne made with ricotta or mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, various meats (e.g., ground beef, pork or chicken), miscellaneous vegetables (e.g., spinach, zucchini, mushrooms) and typically flavored with wine, garlic, onion, and oregano. In all cases the lasagne are oven-baked.

Just like its name, this lasagna was made from a vegetables. How about its taste? SURPRISINGLY, this vegetable lasagna is the winner from all the pasta dish! I never thought that vegetarian lasagna can be so delicious. Hands down to The Annapurna, for this wonderful mouthwatering and unforgettable deliciousness.

On the next day, they asked me to join the SEASAC Swimming Championship's Gala Dinner. The Annapurna once again really amazed me. The beautifully change the theater into a dining area.
